THE Technical, Entrepreneurial and Vocational Education and Training Authority (Teveta) board has confiscated vehicles from its suspended Executive Director Ndione Chauluka and Director of Training Modesto Gomani.
Confirming the development to The Sunday Times yesterday, Teveta board chair Gilbert Chilinde also disclosed that the suspended officials have been given seven days to respond to allegations that they misappropriated K2.4 billion.
Meanwhile the board has also suspended the authority’s Head of Funding Joseph Kampondeni.
The letters of suspension have been sent to the officials and only Kampodeni has acknowledged receipt, Chilinde said.
He said that once the suspended officials respond in writing to the allegations, the board would then institute a disciplinary hearing to hear the matter before a determination is made.
Meanwhile, Director of Finance Elwin Sichiola, who was suspended alongside Chauluka and Gomani in January, has been reinstated after findings cleared him of any wrongdoing.
The three suspended officials are being suspected of funding a project called ‘Tsogolo Langa’ without the knowledge and approval of the board.
