Nyasa Big Bullets struggled to a 2-1 victory over hosts, Liwonde Select, in a friendly match on Sunday.

Both teams missed scoring chances in the first-half which ended goalless.

Watched by an impressive crowd, the game exploded to life in the second-half when both teams made substitutions.

Bullets introduced Dalitso Sailesi, Mussa Manyenje and Fischer Kondowe whereas Liwonde brought in Spac Muhako and Alexander Zakeyu.

Finally, Bullets broke the deadlock through Kondowe’s header after meeting Henry Kabichi’s cross.

Liwonde striker Mussa Mataka equalised before Muhammad Sulumba snatched the winner for Bullets in the 85th minute.

Bullets Coach, Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan, said they failed to capitalise on scoring chances due to the poor condition of the pitch.

“The game was exciting especially in the second-half. The team (Liwonde Select) managed to contain the pressure,” he said.

Liwonde Coach, Smith Bonongwe, said his team contained the giants.

“We could have scored more goals but my attackers were not that sharp. The game was an eye opener. My team has the potential to perform better,” he said.
