Coach Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan was happy with what he saw after his Nyasa Big Bullets thrashed Balaka Select 3-0 at Balaka Stadium on Saturday.

In a post-match interview, Ramadhan said he was happy with the way his players responded to tactics in the memorial game for the Bullets’ fans who died in a road accident last year.

“The coordination and relationship of the players was good despite them not being clinical in front of goal,” he said.

“However, we might need some reinforcements in the squad ahead of the season. But I am happy because the team appears ready for the season.”

During the game, Bullets put behind their in-house squabbles to beat the makeshift but resilient Balaka side, courtesy of goals from Maneno Nyoni, Muhammad Sulumba and Kondwani Kumwenda.

Initially, Bullets were schedule to play against Nsanama FC, but later settled for Balaka Select to remember some of the People’s Team’s supporters who died in a road accident when they were travelling to Blantyre to watch a Blantyre derby.

Despite the win, Bullets failed to display their superiority against the makeshift side.

Nonetheless, Bullets winger Fischer Kondowe showed that he still has more to offer next season after a mesmerising display spiced up by his trademark runs that tormented the hosts’ defenders.

Bullets broke the deadlock midway into the first-half when Nyoni connected a pass from Musa Manyenje after making a great run inside the penalty area before sending the ball into the net.

The first-half ended 1-0.

In the second-half, Bullets started on a high, denying Balaka a chance to break the defence which was marshalled by experienced John Lanjesi, George Nyirenda and Yamikani Fodya.

After the hour mark, Sulumba made into 2-0 before second half substitute Kumwenda buried the game.
