Police in Nkhata Bay have arrested Joseph Banda, 19, from Wasi Village, Traditional Authority Mabuka in Mulanje District for being found in possession of counterfeit Sobo Orange Squash.
Nkhata Bay Police Public Relations Officer, Ignatius Esau, said the police followed a tip-off from well-wishers and arrested Banda at a rest house at the Boma on Sunday March 5 2017.
“After being quizzed, Banda revealed he was diluting Davita juice using water from the lake. He was found with 54 bottles (two litres each) of fake Sobo Orange Squash,” Esau said.
Esau said Banda will answer charges of being found with counterfeit products.
