Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has said all Super League teams will be made to sign a code of conduct before the start of the 2017 season.
Fam Club Licensing System Manager, Casper Jangale, said the code would be one way of enforcing discipline among clubs from next season which kicks off next month.
“In the past, we have seen unruly conduct on the part of officials, supporters, players and referees. Now we are saying time has come for the clubs to be responsible for the conduct of their fans, coaches and players.
“So, they will be made to sign a code of conduct. We want to regulate the game and promote fair play, Jangale said on the associations website.”
Without being specific, Jangale said offenders would be subjected to stiff penalties.
The code will ensure that coaches and officials do not use offensive language during interviews with the media and also at match venues.
It will also be mandatory for coaches to grant interviews to the media.
