Newly-crowned TNM Super League champions, Kamuzu Barracks, will parade the trophy in the streets of Lilongwe Friday.
KB won the league championship after collecting 61 points, just a point above runners-up, Nyasa Big Bullets.
KB General Secretary, Michael Chamaere, said the trophy parade will start in the morning from the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) headquarters to City Centre to Area 18, 49, Old Town via M1 Road to Biwi.
“All is set for the parade. We want to show the trophy to the public.
It was not easy for us to win the league. Just come to witness the best ever trophy parade in the country,” he said.
KB won the title after thrashing Dwangwa United 4-1 at Chitowe Stadium, thanks to Ben Hojani’s brace with Harvey Nkacha and Manase Chiyesa also on target.
Jack Chiona scored a face-saver for Dwangwa.
KB—the first MDF club to claim the league championship—will receive K15 million plus a trophy during the league’s prize giving ceremony on January.
After winning the league title in Chitowe, MDF Commander General, Griffin Supuni Phiri, arrived on a helicopter to celebrate with the players. Supuni pledged to reward the team.
