Former Karonga United coach Oscar Kaunda has said he has not decided on his next destination following the end of his reign at the relegated TNM Super League side.
Karonga hired Kaunda in October with eight league games remaining to save the team from relegation — a dream which did not materialise following a 3-0 loss to title favourites, Kamuzu Barracks last Friday.
The team only managed three wins and five losses under the former Civo United mentor.
Kaunda has since told The Daily Times that he has not been approached by any other club.
“I was hired by Karonga to do my job [of saving them]. Unfortunately, I did not achieve that. At the same time, my contract has expired,” he said.
“I cannot say much about my future now. From February, I have to be in school for a month and half. From there, I will take a decision on my next destination.”
In January this year, Civo dismissed Kaunda, months after guiding them to the then Standard Bank Knock-Out Cup glory.
He was sacked after he failed to meet Caf B-Licence coaching requirement, which Football Association of Malawi set for Super League head coaches.
Kaunda eventually picked a job as coach for Simama Premier Division side, Zolozolo United, guiding them to the 2016 Fisd Challenge Cup quarterfinals before joining Karonga
