Nyasa Big Bullets’ veteran winger, Fischer Kondowe, has apologised to the team’s fans over Monday’s 3-0 loss to rivals, Be Forward Wanderers, at Kamuzu Stadium, describing the shambolic performance as symptomatic of the rot in the People’s Team.
“Losing by such a margin is a big embarrassment. I apologise to the fans. I should be the first to know that if you are a Bullets’ player, it is unacceptable, under any circumstance, losing to Wanderers,” Kondowe said after the Bus Ipite Bonanza’s first leg.
The forceful winger, who came on for McFarlen Mgwira at half-time, has of late been critical of the technical panel’s decisions on fielding and the players’ commitment to Bullets’ cause.
“The only way to arrest Bullets’ decline is by speaking the truth. That is what I am doing. The solution to the team’s struggles cannot be found overnight. Bullets’ are a big team. We need to start afresh next season, right from pre-season, including getting players with the right attitude and commitment.”
Bullets trail TNM Super League leaders, Kamuzu Barracks, by a point going into Saturday’s decisive match against Blue Eagles at Kamuzu Stadium. KB have 58 points and wind up against Dwangwa United in Chitowe.
