Central Region Football Association (CRFA) Chairperson, Austin Ajawa, General Secretary, Bernard Harawa and Treasurer, Pyson Likagwa, will retain their positions unopposed during Saturday’s elections in Lilongwe.

According to a statement released by Football Association of Malawi (Fam), the three officials have no challengers for their respective positions.

Ajawa said he was honoured by the trust which the affiliates have shown in him to serve for another four-year term.

“I am really humbled. We want to take football to the next level. We need to work together as a team to achieve our targets,” Ajawa said.

However, current Vice- Chairperson, Charles Kapichi, faces stiff competition from Simon Lijeje and Super League of Malawi’s Executive Committee member, Alfred Lungu, who has not stated whether he will choose CRFA over Sulom.

Antonio Manda, Ben Namanya and Ibrahim Kalonga will compete for the position of Vice-General Secretary.

Joe Mwase, Owen Munthali, Wales Kazonde, Fredrick Banda, Theresa Chipolopolo and W. Katendema have received nominations as committee members.
