Airtel Malawi has hyped next month’s golf tournament, set for Lilongwe Golf Club (LGC), by sponsoring four ball-pool events.
The actual Airtel Golf Tournament will take place at the 18-hole golf course in Lilongwe.
Speaking when hosting the first ball-poll on Wednesday, newly-appointed LGC Captain, Brian Coombes, said the curtain-raiser will give golfers a chance to fine-tune for the main competition.
“We are really grateful to Airtel Malawi for the gesture.
All the golfers are excited and geared for the tournament next month,” he said.
During the first ball-pool, Charles Mvula emerged as the champion with 23 points followed by Robert Komakech and Adack Sailesi with 22 points and 21 points on position two and three, respectively.
Fortune Lee won the championship for the ladies’ section with 19 points.

In his victory speech, Mvula said he was composed and determined to win the ball-pool.
“I played some good round of golf. It was not easy on the golf course but I was calm,” he said.
