Silver Strikers’ Assistant Coach, Lovemore Fazili, has admitted that, despite defeating Max Bullets 1-0 at Silver Stadium on Saturday, his charges struggled.
“I think the boys underrated Max Bullets. But I am happy because we have progressed to the next round. We will work hard to reach the final of this competition,” Fazili said in a post-match interview.
Max Bullets Coach, Aubrey Nankhuni, refused to speak to the press again.
The Bankers progressed to round-of-16 of the cup through Binwell Katinji’s 12th minute goal.
However, the hosts did not have an easy ride over the struggling TNM Super League rookies.
Last week, Silver made a dramatic U-turn from their decision to withdraw from the competition.
