Malawi Under-17 National Football Team got a consolation at the Cosafa Youth Championship after defeating Kenya 2-0 in Mauritius on Sunday to claim bronze medal.
In-form Peter Banda put Malawi ahead when he netted the opener, and his fifth of the tournament, in the 58th minute.
Francisco Madinga sealed the victory for Malawi following a brilliant solo goal after making a run from the half-way line.
The win was a consolation for the Junior Flames who lost 6-5 on post-match penalties to Namibia in a semifinal on Friday afternoon.
Namibia were meeting South Africa in the final as we went to press.
