Civo United hire Charles Manda

Civo United have bolstered their coaching panel after hiring former Escom United and Be Forward Wanderer mentor, Charles Manda, as Technical Director with immediate effect.

The club’s vice-General Secretary, Ronald Chiwaula, confirmed on Thursday that Manda was hired to fulfill Club Licensing Systems requirements.

“Manda has vast experience and he is also a disciplinarian. We believe that this is a good choice and, hopefully, the team will start delivering good results in the league,” Chiwaula said.

He further explained that Pofera would still be the head coach of the team.

“But we believe that the coming in of Manda will bring positive results to the Civo family because the coaches will be sharing ideas,” he said.

Civo are 11th in the TNM Super League with 15 points from 13 games.

Meanwhile, Pofera has said he is ready to work with anyone for the good of the team.

“The club is yet to brief me on the issue but I am really looking forward to working with Mr. Manda. I think his experience will improve the team. This is football and I have no problems with his appointment,” Pofera said.

Civo hired Pofera after the club parted ways with Standard Bank Cup-winning coach Oscar Kaunda, who fell short of the licensing qualifications.

Manda was not readily available yesterday, but his last job was with Swaziland’s Premier Soccer League side, Mbabane Highlanders, as a deputy to compatriot Meck Mwase.
