Standard Bank on Wednesday opened a forex bureau at Mwanza border and the bank’s Head of Forex Bureaus, Chimwemwe Matonga, said the bureau has been opened to continue meeting customer expectations in forex business.
“The opening of this outlet underscores our strength and depth in capability as a market leader of the forex business. This occasion typifies growth of our business in Malawi and Africa in both respects of size and sophistication in terms of service delivery,” said Matonga.
Matonga said the bureau will help the district benefit from the efficiency of Standard Bank forex bureaus.
“The bureau will also offer tailor-made services to the business community in Mwanza and other people passing through the border,” he said.
District Commissioner for Mwanza, Jack Ngulube, thanked Standard Bank for constructing the facility saying it will protect people from being exploited by black market forex traders
