Former Malawi national football team captain, Joseph Kamwendo, joined the Flames camp at Mpira Village in Blantyre Monday ahead of Saturday’s game in Zimbabwe.
Kamwendo arrived from Mozambique where he plays for Liga Desportivo de Maputo after switching from Congolese side, TP Mazembe.
As we went to press, the Flames were expected to have a full house with the arrival of goalkeeper Charles Swini and midfielder John Banda also from Mozambique.
South Africa-based Gerald Phiri Jnr (Bidvest Wits), Micium Mhone (Jomo Cosmos) and Harry Nyirenda (Black Leopards) arrived in camp last week alongside Wits-bound Frank Gabadinho Mhango.
With two points from five games, the Flames hope to salvage something in Zimbabwe in the Group L qualifier of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).
The Warriors lead the standings with eight points from five games.
On the same day, Swaziland host Guinea. Only group leaders will qualify for the 2017 Afcon finals in 2017 in Gabon.
