Three Malawi Congress Party officials accused of plotting to overthrow President Peter Mutharika’s government are appearing before Area 30 Police in Lilongwe as part of their bail conditions.
The three are Jessie Kabwila, Peter Chakwantha and Ulemu Msungama. MCP secretary General Gustave Kalowo escorted the officials to police told our Reporter Ntchindi Meki that he is not sure what will happen at the police but that he “hopes for the best”.
The development comes barely two days after Inspector General of Police lexten Kachama told journalists at a news conference that police do not have evidence for treason but that investigations are still going on.
