Central Region will hold Superior Rugby League final round games on Saturday at Bishop Mackenzie International School Ground.
In the championship game, Lilongwe Rugby Club face Lilongwe Venom, whereas Chisapo Buffaloes play Area 25 Hippos in a third-place play-off.
The winner will qualify for the national championship to be staged on March 19 in Lilongwe.
Lilongwe Rugby Union general secretary, Martin Chilakalaka, said the league has been entertaining.
“For the first time, Lilongwe teams took part in the league, and it has been a wonderful league. We are happy because we have seen more talented players in the region this year,” Chilakalaka said on Thursday.
Chilakalaka also hailed Superior Foods for including Lilongwe teams in the competition this season.
There is an excitement among rugby players in the country, especially in Lilongwe, where for the first time, Central Region teams are playing in the annual league.
Meanwhile, Southern Region will hold third-round games this weekend at Blantyre Sports Club.
Ndirande Impala face Blantyre Sports Club before Lucheza Redants and Sports Complex Jaguars faceoff in another encounter. Saints Hooligans meet Black Cheetahs.
