Blantyre Sports Club (BSC) golf section has organised a fundraising golf tournament and dinner to be held Saturday.

The event is aimed at raising K8 million to help refurbish some structures at the facility.

BSC lady golf captain, Connie Muguvu-Karuku, said they would like to renovate the bridges that were washed away by the floods at the golf course.

“This is the club chairman’s fundraising event where golf and dinner are open to the public,” she said.

Muguvu-Karuku said golfers would compete in pairs during the day.

“Dinner is also open to members of the public with singles paying K10,000 and K20,000 for double. Children under the age of 12 will pay K5,000,” she said.

Muguvu-Karuku said they had a sizeable number sponsors, and calling on the general public to buy dinner tickets at BSC reception.

She said the two events will bring people with different backgrounds together.

“The general public should know that golf community is willing to connect with anybody of good character out there. It is not a game of pride as perceived by some,” she said.
