Sports betting firm Premier Bet has unveiled plans to expand its operations and open additional outlets across the country before mid this year.
Premier Bet operations director, Darren Glover, said the plan is premised on the successful performance registered by the company within the first six months of its operations in the country.
He was speaking in Blantyre at the handover of a K1.5 million cheque to Blantyre-based Mayeso Kanjanga for emerging triumphant in the betting.
Glover said the institution has so far over 27 betting centers within Blantyre.
“We have already created over 200 jobs through our existing outlets,” said Glover.
He said the betting has been embraced by most Malawians and that it is also benefiting the economy through revenue collected by government as well as employment opportunities created.
He said the company is now looking at expanding to Lilongwe and Mzuzu Kanjanga could not hide his excitement at getting the jackpot.
“I am happy to be a winner. This will greatly improve my life as I will invest the money into my studies to increase my chances and opportunities,” said Kanjanga.
