Promising boxer, Kudakwache Nkhakamila-Banda defeated Charles Misanjo on a unanimous points’ decision during a non-title eight-rounder staged at Lilongwe Community Ground on Sunday.
It was a fight that gave the patrons a rare treat in Lilongwe. Kudakwache, the unbeaten boxer, was looking for a killer punch, but Misanjo’s experience was the key.
Most of Kudakwache’s punches were on target, whereas Misanjo got the wrath of the crowd because of his style of boxing.
Kudakwache, now unbeaten in six bouts in the professional ranks, dominated the fight from the word go, and he was more aggressive.
Misanjo was brought to the canvas three times, whereas Kudakwache faced a similar ordeal twice.
After the victory, Kudakwache promised to beat all opponents coming his way.
Misanjo claimed he got injured during the final preparations, but said he was ready for a re-match.
In the main supporting bout, Chikondi Makawa defeated Bright Mdoka on a unanimous decision.
Hosts Superior Boxing Promotions managing director, Japhet Majekete, was impressed with the huge turn-out and the level of boxing.
“It was an exciting bout and I hope all boxing lovers were impressed with the fight,” Majekete said.
