Football Association of Malawi’s (Fam) Appeals Committee, headed by Justice Lovemore Chikopa, has resigned, a few days after the association held its elections in Mangochi on Saturday.
The committee was at the centre of the controversy that saw some candidates lodge a complaint to have the elections put on hold.
Electoral candidates for presidency Willie Yabwanya and Wilkins Mijiga and vice-presidency Tiya Somba sought a civil courts intervention to halt the poll following differences on voter roll with FAM administration.
An appeal by FAM at the High Court in Blantyre saw the court overturn the trio’s injunction and the voter went ahead.
