The life of a housemaid in Salima, Ruth Makowa will never be the same again as she saw herself turning into a millionaire on Monday when Airtel presented to her a cheque of K5 million she won during the just-ended Tisanje Promotion.
Three people emerged grand winners from the three regions, winning K5 million each.
Makowa, married and expectant, expressed joy at winning the K5 million prize.
“I’ll build a decent house to accommodate my mother who is a widow and is experiencing a lot of challenges to sustain her life,” she said in an interview.
Airtel Malawi sales director, Elias Imaan, said the promotion received overwhelming suppor t through entries and expects the prizes given out to change people’s lives.
